The Latest Scoop - NEW
Who says there isn't anything new going on?
1) New businesses in town
Golden Chopsticks Restaurant on Collier
Sea Food Restaurant on Mission Trail
Giovanni & Isaacs Art & Antiques on Main Street
Total Performance Auto Repair on Corydon
2) The School District wants to expand Tuscany Hills Elementary School
3) We are waiting for a use agreement from the School District for Terra Cotta Joint Use Gymnasium. It has been open for use by the school district since October. It has not been open for resident use to date. The city (taxpayers) chipped in $750,000 for the gym.
4) The Outhouse Campground, busted for property maintenance issues and nuisance issues.
5) We may have a new event in town, The Warrior Dash. Event organizers originally wanted to hold it at Temescal Canyon Road, but the county said no. Organizers are now in communication with the Storm Stadium to host the event there on April 10th and 11th. Are you a warrior?

If the taxpayers gave the district $750,000, shouldn't the district be waiting for a use agreement from the city? Seems kind of absurd. Maybe the city can just send them a bill and we can build our own gym.
FYI - The Rosetta Canyon Dog Park is schedule to open March 27th along with the rest of the park excluding the ball field which will open later this summer when the turf has grown.
Does the city own the campground? Why don't we give it a new and improved name, like El Snore Campground. If I was looking for a place to stay, I think I would prefer to stay at El Snore Campground instead of the outhouse.
The Outhouse campground is a dive, filled with nothing but low lifes and trash people, you should see the people that come in and out of there it is very scary. Fits right in with the low income apartments on Riverside, the ones on Lincoln and of course the gang banger tract the Bird Tract.
Great news, a couple new places to eat and an antique store as an added bonus. Now if we could just get Marshall's or Ross into the old Office Max building we'd be on a roll :)
I know about warrior dash...they have room nights not sure about the dates they want...lets try to keep this event. Because we lost lucus oil to Vegas! I will test the new restaurants thks for sharing Mayor!
PS..Film Office closed in Az..maybe we have a chance for film crews.
Golden Chopsticks on Collier (Target Store complex) has been there for more than a year !
There is a new place very similar quality of fast-food Chinese on Lakeshore Drive across the street from Stater Bros. (near Four Corners/Riverside Drive).
And, there are two new places to eat on Riverside Drive in Elsinore. One is a Thai food (where China Palace was on Joy Street) and the other is The Lake House Restaurant (took the place of Arrivaderci Roma). Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
FYI, we do not own the Outhouse Campground. Your idea for a name change did make me laugh though!
Golden Chopsticks was listed in the weekly memo as having received a business license approval for the week of Feb 22-26. Not sure why that is if they've been open for a year. I put a call in to staff to find out.
I have not been to the Lake House yet but I hear it's really good. Perhaps a good place to take the family for breakfast on the weekends, getting me out of cooking :)
Thanks for the updated info on our restuarants!
Apparently Golden Chopsticks had a change of ownership. When that happens the new owner must get his/her own new business license, so that's why it was in the weekly memo.
Hi - for everyone who might want little change of cuisine a another place that is trying to open called "King Kabobs" down the street from the Best Western Hotel/Casino Drive.
Has the antique store opened down town yet, how about bringing back the cruise night to old town and the once a month street fair on Sundays, what happened to all the fun stuff that used to take place on Main Street?????? why is it gone??????? Did the Hispanics that hang down there scare people off??????
