Voting Results from Oct 13 Council Meeting
1) Proposed installation of stop signs at the intersection of La Strada and Summerhill Drive near Tuscany Hills Elementary School.
This passed unanimously, stop signs will be installed at Summerhill and La Strada, still waiting to hear exactly when.
2) Ordinance amending the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code regarding grading and hauling.
This item was continued to allow staff to beef up the ordinance and make sure all areas are covered. It will come back to council for approval.
3) Urgency ordinance to amend the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code allowing for dogs to be off-leash in designated Dog Parks.
This item passed unanimously. If the urgency was not approved with four members voting in favor, it would have been brought back to the council as a regular ordinance, which only requires three members to vote in favor to pass. Three members already stated they were in favor. So, it would have passed, sooner or later. Rather than string it our, we passed it last night. This is only for 3 months, until a permanent site is identified.
4) Recall petition certificate of Registrar of Voters.
We accepted and received the certificate and have until October 27th (the next council meeting)to set a date for the election.

After last nights public comments, there should be a FLASHING red light at that crossing, NOT just a stop sign.
Good job on the stop sign, bad idea on the dog park, don't know what to say about the hauling thing other than it's about time, and the recall, what's the date going to be?
The builder up there is required to put in a traffic signal, but that will not be until the homes are developed. Let's hope that's soon, not just for the taffic signal, but for some jobs too!
As for the recall, we must choose an election date between 88 and 125 days from October 13th.
There is a possibility we could hold our election in conjunction with the election the county may have to hold. Senator Benoit may be appointed to fill the county supervisor seat of Roy Wilson, who recently passed away.
If Benoit is appointed, the county will have to hold an election to fill his senate seat. If that ends up being the case, we could save money by holding our election with the county, provided they hold their election within the 88-125 day range we are required to have ours.
In light of the recent influx of "trafficing" teen drivers on Machado St. I feel they should put in SPEED BUMPS to control the need for the Indy 500 style of motoring!! One of these days there's going to be a tragic accident...don't make that a prerequisite before hand!!
Speed bumps huh? Hmm, that's a suggestion I haven't heard yet. Don't know if we can do that, but I can pose the question.
Regarding the stop sign...it's my understanding there will be a flashing light along with a stop sign. The report I received said it will installed in about about 4 weeks.
Eventually there will be a traffic signal there once the development at La Strada is complete. See? More good news!
Regarding the recall election date...the date will be set at the October 27th meeting.
